I have trouble staying focused and productive when writing articles. I get distracted very easily and just generally feel tired after I've written one short article. How do you stay motivated and productive?
Oof, I feel you. Writing an article is a mental workout. If I'm struggling to tackle a piece (or any task, really), I try to remember how good I'll feel when it's done. Usually that's enough to get me going.
Also, sometimes I'll plan out rewards for myself. For instance, when I finished my ebook (shameless plug: https://www.amazon.com/Start-Freelance-Writing-Career-Scratch-ebook/dp/B01FX5C1V2), then I treated myself to a nice dinner and a movie.
(In case you were wondering, I saw Neighbors 2. Zac Efron was lovely, but everything else fell flat. Would not recommend.)
You might try rewarding yourself after every three articles—that's not too unattainable, but it's a quick enough achievement that you won't feel like your reward is out of reach!
