Hello! I was wondering what type of experience you think is most valuable for a student who's interested in graduating as a nurse. I'll be a freshman this coming fall and I've been recommended to join clubs on campus and to follow along on their trips like Guatemala. From your knowledge, what's the best/recommended route to take?
There is really no ONE experience that will help prepare you to be a nurse. Each type of experience can provide you with different opportunities. I do like study abroad experiences for students in particular, because it opens a window into the world outside the college campus. Many of these experiences are life-changing because it challenges students in new ways and they discover things about themselves. Opportunities to discover who you are, what you are good at, and like doing – will ultimately help you and your development as a person and as a great nurse!
