  • Is it okay to work at a company if you don’t believe in the product?

I interviewed with a couple of companies, but so far my only offer is a developer role at a small software company whose main product is another web browser. I find it difficult to believe it is something that it can compete against Chrome or Firefox but experience is better than none so I'm really thinking about joining the team.

That's sort of up to you. I generally prefer to work for companies that make products I see virtue in, but I wouldn't consider it a requirement.

When job descriptions talk about "passion" they usually refer to passion for what you do, and don't expect you to suddenly buy their product(s) and tell all your friends about them if you don't want to.
