  • Are companies really strict about potential hires using their product for a period of time?

I found a job posting that tipped applicants off that frequent users will take priority in the application process. They said ideally users who have used the product for 2-3 months will be prioritized higher. I've only been using the product for a month now so I'm wondering if I should just wait until I hit the 2 month mark to be sure?

I've never seen this before, but it would give you real working knowledge of the product and in theory, know how it works.

I read more about it on their blog but I'm not sure how strict they are about the number of months.... https://open.bufferapp.com/why-we-prioritize-hiring-people-who-use-our-product/

OP, if you want the job, you wait 2-3 months. Applying early to Buffer won't be in your best interest. I know this because my friend applied, was highly qualified (even knew Leo, the guy who wrote that post), and didn't get an interview.
