I feel bad but there really isn't a mentor or supervisor with the right skillset to guide me =/
Mentorship is important for engineers. Without the support of higher level (or even similar level) peers, it's hard to go from "junior" to "senior". One thing I think our industry isn't particularly good at is training new engineers to become seniors.
To answer your question, I think its imperative that you feel like you can ask questions and get support from anyone on your team at any time.
