  • Do team leads at smaller companies generally do everything?

I'm considering an offer from a small company in Atlanta as a development team lead. The responsibilities include management (including hiring, firing, meetings), software development (lead the team through the SDLC), programming (do coding myself), testing, and even budget and vendor management. The salary offered is $85k.

I’ve never worked on a team lead role before and I’m very interested, but I feel like the responsibilities are quite a lot. Or is this the norm in smaller companies?

It can be the norm in smaller development TEAMS regardless of company size. I don't recommend combining these roles, but I have been the dev manager, interviewer, scrum master, product owner, quality manager, tech writing editor, proposal writer, and programmer all in one job.
