I try not to leave it up to editors to maintain that standard. I do my best to present a flawless, well crafted story with vibrant characters every single time I submit to my publisher. After a certain point, if you're not meeting the standards the publisher requires, they won't hesitate to let you know.
I will absolutely admit that I am total crap when it comes to commas. I do my best with that kind of thing, but I'm sure my editors do their share of eyerolling. I'm grateful that people clean up after me in that regard.
