How do you take a comment/issue/request from someone who is not a designer, and adapt it to something you can execute? Do you have an example?
I definitely take customer feedback seriously, however I never let them design things for me. Part of a designer's job is to act as a filter between opinion and fact. Use the facts -- data, analytics and objective feedback -- to inform the opinions and you'll often see those opinions change. Another part of a designer's job is to defend his/her work because sometimes, nobody on earth knows better than you about that particular use case, interaction or color scheme.
